Some people may be interested in a news about the torch relay in Japan.
The relay will be held in Nagano city, 1998 Winter Game host. Originally
it had been planned to start from Zenkoji temple, a national treasure with
1300 year history, but Zenkoji announced withdrawal from the relay for
security concerns and protesting against China on Tibet issue.
After the withdrawal, Nagano city suffered to find an alternative start
point and finally decided to a vacant land owned by the city. The ironic
thing is that the place was originally used as a detention center i.e. the
torch starts from ex-jail place.(Mr.366,Thanks!)
